Uninstalling the Product

There are two different methods by which you can uninstall OfficeReady 4.0. Each of these methods have been explained below.

1) Uninstalling using the uninstall program

OfficeReady 4.0 includes a utility for uninstalling the software. Follow these instructions to use this utility:

  1. Close all programs.
  2. Click Start -> Programs -> OfficeReady 4.0 -> Uninstall OfficeReady 4.0.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstall process.

2) Uninstalling using Add/Remove Programs

You can uninstall OfficeReady 4.0 using Windows Add/Remove Programs:

  1. Close all programs.
  2. Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
  3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  4. Click OfficeReady 4.0 in the Install/Uninstall tab that appears in the dialog box.
  5. Click Add/Remove.
  6. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstall process.

A dialog box will appear, which allows you to specify whether or not you want to keep the OfficeReady 4.0 settings on your computer.

Note: If you plan to reinstall OfficeReady 4.0, it is strongly recommended that you keep these settings. Retaining the settings saves you the time and effort of typing the details all over again when you reinstall OfficeReady 4.0.

To retain your settings on your computer, click Yes.

To delete the OfficeReady 4.0 settings from your computer, click No.

The uninstall will check for installed template packs. If you have installed template packs, a dialog box will appear, which allows you to select whether you want to uninstall the template packs or retain them for further use.

Note: If you plan to reinstall OfficeReady 4.0, it is strongly recommended that you keep all installed template packs.

Click Keep to retain the template packs, or click Delete to remove them.

If you choose to keep the template packs and reinstall OfficeReady 4.0, the template pack templates will be available provided that OfficeReady4.0 is installed in the same folder as before. If the folder is changed, the template pack templates will not be available. You will need to reinstall the template pack in order to use them.

If you have not installed template packs, the uninstall will proceed uninterrupted. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to uninstall OfficeReady 4.0.

Note: Canceling an uninstall operation causes unexpected results.
