Cropping Your Image
When you want to use an image in your template, chances are you will want (and need) to crop your image. Cropping performs two major functions:
- Remove any unwanted, extraneous portions of your image that will take away from the image's main focus.
- Trim the image down so that is it of the same dimensions as the PhotoSocket into which you are inserting the image.
OfficeReady 4.0 PhotoSocket
Once you have selected a PhotoSocket, click on the Insert Photo button
on the OfficeReady 4.0 Toolbar. This will open the Photo Editor. When the Photo Editor opens, you will be given a suggested crop box, as shown below. The crop box is a red rectangle with a handle at the midpoint of each of the four edges.

To adjust the crop box, click and one of the handles. This will change the size, but not the shape, of the crop box. This is to ensure that your cropped image is of the same dimensions as the PhotoSocket into which it will be inserted.
To crop the image and exit the Photo Editor without making any other adjustments, click the Done button
. You will then be asked, "Do you want to apply the crop to the image before closing the Photo Editor?" Click Yes to apply the crop and insert the image.
To crop the image and remain in the Photo Editor to make other adjustments, click the "Apply Crop" button at the top-left corner of the Photo Editor. To cancel the crop, click the "Cancel Crop" button (also at the top-left).
Note: Positioning the crop box outside the boundaries of the image will produce the following error message:

Clicking OK may cause the image to stretch to fit the PhotoSocket and become distorted. It is recommended that you keep all bounds of the crop box within the bounds of the image.
After you have cropped your image, it is now of the same dimensions as the PhotoSocket (as shown below).
