Working with ACT! 2005
High Impact eMail 3.0 now includes compatibilty with ACT! 2005 along with the existing ACT! 6.0 compatibility. ACT! 6.0 and ACT! 2005 can co-exist on the same machine and you can choose any one of the two as your email client.
You can set the email client either during the setup or later on using "My Preferences." See images below.
During the High Impact eMail 3.0 installation, the setup program installs options to start High Impact eMail 3.0 from within the main ACT! 2005 window. The program adds a High Impact eMail 3.0 button 
to ACT!'s standard toolbar and also adds the Start High Impact eMail 3.0 option under the Tools menu.
You can select this menu option to launch High Impact eMail from ACT! or simply click the High Impact eMail 3.0 button on ACT!'s standard toolbar.
When you are creating a new mail and ACT! has its mail format set to something other than HTML, then High Impact eMail automatically sets the mail format to HTML. As soon as the mail is created in ACT, the application toggles the mail format back to the original setting.
It is important to configure your Outlook correctly. If the steps below are not followed, your High Impact eMail messages will not be sent correctly.

Outlook XP (2002) — Please ensure that you have your email program set to MS Outlook or Internet Mail within the ACT! preferences. For more information on how to do this, please read the ACT! User's Guide.

Outlook 2000 — Follow the instructions given below to configure Outlook correctly. You will need the Microsoft Outlook 2000 installation CD in order to continue.
- Exit all programs except Microsoft Outlook.
- Select the Tools | Options menu option.
- Click on the the Mail Services or Mail Delivery tab.
- Click Reconfigure Mail Support.
- Click Corporate or Workgroup.
- Click Next, and follow the instructions in the Outlook wizard.
- After Outlook closes, be sure that all other applications are also closed before restarting your computer. When Windows restarts, it will ask for your Office or Outlook installation CD.
- After Outlook is reconfigured to Corporate or Workgroup, open ACT! and set your email program to MS Outlook. For more information on how to do this, please read the ACT! User's Guide.
