Working with ACT! 6.0
During the High Impact eMail installation, the setup program added options to launch High Impact eMail from ACT! and installed a collection of HTML templates. The program folder 'KMT Software' was also created with this installation under the Program Files group in the selected drive.
The program added the High Impact eMail 3.0 button
to ACT!'s
standard toolbar and also added the Launch High Impact eMail 3.0 option under the Tools menu.
You can select this menu option to launch High Impact eMail from ACT! or simply click the High Impact eMail 3.0 button on ACT!'s standard toolbar.
When you are creating a new mail and ACT! has its mail format set to something other than HTML, then High Impact eMail automatically sets the mail format to HTML. As soon as the mail is created in ACT, the application toggles the mail format back to the original setting.
It is important to configure your Outlook correctly. If the steps below are not followed, your High Impact eMail messages will not be sent correctly.

Setting the Template as ACT! Default Stationery
Before using this feature of High Impact eMail, you should have a good understanding of what
stationery is in ACT!, Outlook, and Outlook Express. Consult the help systems for these programs and experiment with stationery until you are comfortable with how it works in the email client you use.
One of High Impact eMail's most interesting features is that it can create custom stationery for the email client you use. You can use this every time you compose an email message. It's very easy to select one of the Stationery templates and set it as default stationery.
To set one of High Impact eMail's templates as the default stationery for ACT:
- Click the My Stationery icon on the Main Screen.
- Select a template.
- Select a profile.
- Edit the template.
- Select the Yes, set this stationery as the ACT! default stationery radio button.
- Click Finish.
Once the template has successfully been set as the default stationery for ACT, a message box will appear as shown below.

Similar message boxes will appear for the other email clients as well.
For Advanced Users:
Setting your default stationery to mail merge in ACT!
- Set a High Impact eMail template as Default Stationery as explained
above
- After setting your default stationery, go to Write | Edit Graphical (HTML) E-mail Template...
Choose “emailbody”
- Insert your mail merge fields using the mail merge tool.
- Save the template. Make sure it is saved as emailbody
Your default stationery will now mail merge every time you hit “Write Email” or when you click on an email address in the ACT! database.
Important: If the above steps are not followed correctly, you may lose the Default Stationery feature in ACT!.
Note: Every time you set any of High Impact eMail's template as the ACT! default stationery, High Impact eMail checks whether you have the original ACT! default stationery template on your system. If the original ACT! default stationery cannot be found, High Impact eMail will display a message box
as shown below.
Another interesting feature of High Impact eMail is that it allows you to revert back to ACT!'s original default stationery, which you can use every time you compose an email message.
It's very easy to revert back to ACT!'s original default stationery; all you need to do is to select the Revert to ACT! default stationery
button on the "My Stationery - Set ACT Stationery" screen.
Note: Once the original ACT! template has successfully reverted as the default stationery for ACT, a message box will appear as shown below.
